Asteria Launches Continuum Suite
Hollywood may not quite
know how it really feels about AI. But let’s be honest, it is going to change
how films get made, like it or not. The real questions are how, and how the
industry will have to adapt to it. In what could be one of the first film production-targeted
AI projects that actually attempt to answer that question, a new offering made
specifically to help with production goals has launched, as entertainment lawyer Brandon Blake is here to share.

Asteria Launches New Suite
Continuum suite, launched by Asteria, promises to offer a new model operating system, designed specifically for the film and TV industries.
Notably, Asteria has seen a lot of press around its models. By focusing on a different approach to training, this offers a bypass to many of the copyright violation worries that have been troubling the industry’s tech conversations.
While much of the industry focuses on the splashier side of the tech, Asteria’s main focus has been on opening up room for efficiencies below-the-line. Continuum Suite took that as its focus. How can they improve how productions work?
Below-the-Line
Efficiency
Using Amazon Web Services, the OS is designed to work in the cloud. It’s already pulling interest from some major names, including the home of American Psycho and The Crow, Pressman Films.
Once a script is entered, the system analyzes the characters or scenes/locations in the script. From there, it will help with prop and costuming information. This can then be used to handle sides and call sheets for improved scheduling. Production database? Storyboarding? It can help with that, too.
It will be interesting
indeed to see how much traction Continuum Suite gains in the industry, as the
potential is certainly solid.
