The Pitt Takes the Top Spot in the Latest Gauge Report

Report

The Pitt has established itself something of a chokehold among viewers, and it looks like that is paying off for them on streaming, too. With insight from the latest Nielsen Gauge report, we have Brandon Blake, entertainment attorney at Blake & Wang P.A.

Crossing a Billion

With its season two finale still to come, The Pitt has now hit the No. 1 spot in Nielsen’s ratings, the only series to bring in over 1B in viewing minutes for the week. 1.16B, to be precise. This is the eighth week in a row where it’s stayed above that mark, and the eleventh time the show has hit that milestone in its second season.

Love on the Spectrum also had its best performance so far, at 865M viewing minutes, and Invincible also hit a personal best at 611M minutes.

Returning Favorites

Talking about a blast from the past, the 2010-2016 sitcom, Mike and Molly, managed to inch its way into the report after Netflix started reruns, bringing in 587M minutes. After a successful theatrical run, Prime Video’s Crime 101 led in the movie category, with 696M minutes, which Amazon will no doubt be happy about.

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen was something of a bust in its first week, but managed a credible recovery, landing at 821M viewing minutes, 69% higher than its premiere week. Notable entries also include Hulu’s Paradise, which also saw its second season finale do the best of all entries so far, at 672M minutes.

As always, Nielsen’s Gauge report only covers TV set viewing, so these benchmarks are without viewers from mobiles or PCs, and only covers US audiences. Still, those are pretty impressive numbers in a week when The Pitt was the dominant title.
